Our CEO Tanigawa served as a jury member for the international design competition “Creative City Maebashi: From the Prefectural Office to Maebashi Station,” and the results have now been announced.
Under the theme “Creating a Future City that Enhances Innovative Urban Functions and Aims for the Sustainable Development of a Prefectural Capital Proudly Represented on the World Stage,” 13 proposals (submitted by 44 entities across 13 groups) were reviewed. The winning proposal, titled “Maebashi Ridge Line – Town Development Connected by the Ridgeline”, was submitted by a multidisciplinary team composed of Mount Fuji Architects Studio, WRT, Systematica, Fukken Engineering Consultants, and Sanyo Technical Consultants.
With the concept of the “ridge line” at its core, the plan connects city and nature, people and community. The collaborative work by creators across borders brings a fresh perspective to urban development in Maebashi. The proposal presents a forward-thinking urban vision that prioritizes diversity and wellbeing, opening up new possibilities for the city’s future.
