Mobile Installation at GYRE in Omote-sando, “Listen to the wind, See the sound.”
Co-exhibited with “NOUSAKU_ism” at EYE OF GYRE.
The history of casting production established and cultivated in Toyama of
Hokuriku region has been backed to 400 years ago.
“TAKAOKA NOUSAKU”, has succeeded its spirit of MONO-zukuri, or handicraft
production, up to now, has received high evaluations from all over the world
and it’s one of the master craftsmen leading modern Japan today.
NOUSAKU and GYRE collaborated and produced new wind-bells to make an
installation of one and only sound in the world at GYRE in Omote-sando.
A graceful sound of wind-bell is becoming mobile floating around in the
spacious atrium in the building.
The title of “Listen to the wind, See the sound.” is the first ever
“healing” work of space design, which is gentle to the eyes and the ears.
NOUSAKU’s exhibition is also held to experience the even deeper world of
its handicraft production as a co-exhibition.
“NOUSAKU_ism” sublimates its tradition, technique, and the spirit into the
modern style, and its truly unique world, which is succeeded to the next
generation is exhibited in the space along with photos by Shin Suzuki,
photographer.
Please enjoy yourself to experience the purity sound and the world of
Takumi, or master craftsman, who created it at GYRE in Omote-sando.
