SPA (Social Platform Academy) is a practice-based learning space where people gather across positions and disciplines to reconsider social issues through inquiry. In contemporary society, fragmentation and isolation are deepening, and challenges that cannot be solved by government, business, or NPOs alone are increasing. Behind this lies not only a shortage of systems and resources, but a decline in the "quality of relationships." Dialogue has diminished, mutual understanding has weakened, and spaces to envision a shared future are lacking. SPA is designed as a space to reweave these relationships. The foundation of its operational philosophy is the concept of SPO (Social Platform Organization). SPO represents a "social infrastructure" that connects people and facilitates dialogue and co-creation from an intermediary position—neither government nor corporate. It removes titles, allowing individuals to face one another as citizens, share questions, and conduct small experiments. Through this, trust and relationships are cultivated. SPA does not teach ready-made answers. Instead, participants bring their own discomforts and questions, engage in repeated dialogue, and connect these to small prototypes. Empathy generates questions. Questions cultivate relationships. Relationships give birth to practice. SPA offers experiential learning of this循環 (cyclical process).
The relationships and insights nurtured here hold the potential to eventually develop into businesses, policies, and projects. However, SPA's purpose is not the immediate creation of outcomes. It is to cultivate the "relational soil" that supports a sustainable society.
Society moves through relationships. SPA is an experimental space for redesigning those relationships.
